The HCISD Music Department is committed to providing quality Music Education for students in grades K-12. All elementary students have one general music class per week taught by a certified music specialist. Once in 6th grade, students may choose to join band, orchestra, or choir. These options are available to them through the 12th grade. Middle School and High School band, choir, and orchestra teachers are also certified and have specialized in the area of expertise in which they are teaching.
We are proud and very fortunate to have an award-winning music department! Each year, aside from TMEA and UIL, our ensembles participate in Region, Area, State, National & International competitive events. And, each year HCISD proudly produces outstanding results. This is evidence of the quality music instruction students receive in our schools, along with talented, motivated students.
